Aug. 5 – 9 (Mon. – Fri.) / White Marlin Open, Ocean City’s Harbour Island Marina, 14th St. and the bay. World’s largest and richest billfish tournament. Aug. 7 – 11 (Wed. – Sun.) / Artists Paint O.C.: Plein Air Event. Watch local and visiting artists paint the scenic views of Ocean City. Aug. 10 (Sat.) / Wet Paint Sale and Show, O.C. Center for the Arts, 94th Street. Be among the first to purchase art created by the many artists who participated in the Plein Air Event. Free admission. Aug. 11 (Sun.) / Quick-Draw Event, S. Division St. and the Boardwalk. Watch artists paint against the clock in this two-hour competition. Aug. 25 (Sun.) / Fresh Start: A Wicomico County Back-to-School Event. The event provides students in need with resources to help them achieve success. More than a dozen organizations have collaborated to reach thousands of children and invest in the future of the area’s youth. Because of this cooperative approach, students are able to receive backpacks, supplies and haircuts. Also, families can learn about community resources and enjoy activities. Admission: Free.
