on Maryland’s Eastern Shore.

Various Dates in Early Dec. / Christmas Home Tours Across Delmarva Visit
Through Dec. 31 / Winterfest of Lights at Ocean City’s Northside Park. Sip hot chocolate in the heated Winterfest Village pavilion, take a photo with Santa, and board the Winterfest Express tram to tour fairy-tale-themed exhibits. The one-mile journey travels past hundreds of animated lighted displays and a 50-foot Christmas tree. Times: Fridays and Saturdays, 5:30 -10:30 p.m.; other nights, 5:30 – 9:30 p.m. Tram tickets: $5 for those 12 and older; others, free.
Every Weekend in Dec. Through Christmas / Ice skating in downtown Salisbury’s amphitheater. Vendors and food trucks on site. Noon to 4:30 p.m. Admission and skating are free. Cost to rent skates: $5.
Dec. 1 (Sat.) / It Was a Very Good Year: Frank Sinatra Tribute at the Ocean City Performing Arts Center, 4001 Coastal Highway. 8 p.m. Tickets: $35 & $45.
Dec. 1 & 2 (Sat. & Sun.) / Eastern Shore Ballet Theater presents The Nutcracker at the Wicomico High School Auditorium. Time: 8 p.m. Tickets: adults, $35 & $45.

Dec. 4 (Tues.) / Together for the Holidays Christmas concert featuring the Salisbury Pops, Salisbury University’s Holloway Hall, 7:30 p.m. Free.
Dec. 5 – 9 (Wed. – Sun.) / Jesus Christ, Superstar at Salisbury University’s Fulton Hall Black Box Theater. Wed. – Sat. at 8 p.m.; Sun. at 2 p.m. Tickets: Adults, $12; seniors (62+), $9; all students, $9.
Dec. 7 – 9 (Fri. – Sun.) / 2018 Victorian Christmas at the Ross Mansion, 23669 Ross Station Rd., Seaford, Del. Events include caroling at the stable, a visit from Santa, mansion tours, and a Secret-Santa craft project. Click here for days, times, and prices: Most events are free.
Dec. 8 (Sat.) / Newsboys United at the Wicomico Youth and Civic Center, Salisbury. Hear Newsboys hits stretching over 30 years, plus new hits like “Born Again” and “Miracles.” 6 p.m. Tickets: $25 – $100 premium package.
Dec. 8 (Sat.) / Salisbury Symphony Orchestra, Winter Holiday Is in the Aire, featuring soprano Melissa Harvey. Holloway Auditorium, 7:30 p.m. Tickets: $25; $20 for seniors age 60+, $5 for all students.

Dec. 26 – 29  (Wed. – Sat.) / Governor’s Challenge High School Basketball Tournament at the Wicomico Civic Center and surrounding high schools. One hundred twenty teams will participate. Tickets: Daily admission, $10; all-access pass, $35. For full information, visit
Dec. 29  (Sat.) / Presley, Perkins, Lewis, and Cash at the Ocean City Performing Arts Center, 4001 Coastal Highway. Celebrating the music of Elvis, Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Johnny Cash. 8 p.m. Tickets: $29 & $36.
Dec. 31 (Mon.) / New Year’s Eve Events / Salisbury, Ball Drop and Celebration, Main St. and N. Division St., downtown. 8 p.m. – midnight. Beer and wine for sale. All ages welcome. Music by The Larks and the “Tops Cut Off” D.J. Team. Ocean City, New Year’s Eve Fireworks at midnight; Northside Park, 125th St. The fireworks display will be accompanied by live entertainment, warm hot chocolate, and the opportunity to ride through the Winterfest of Lights.

Jan. 1 (Tues.) / New Year’s Day Events / Ocean City Penguin Swim, Princess Royale Hotel, 91st Street. Registration and check-in from 10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Swim at 1 p.m. Fee: $25 per swimmer. Ocean City Mayor’s New Year’s Concert at the O.C. Performing Arts Center, 4001 Coastal Highway. Featuring singer Nadja Nicole, a previous contestant on The Voice. Free admission. Meet & Greet with the Mayor & City Council from 1:00 to 1:30 p.m. Doors open at 1:30 p.m. Concert begins promptly at 1:45 p.m.
