Looking for an energetic, customer-focused Realtor who will guide and support you through every step of the selling or buying process? Hoping to work with someone who was born and raised on the Eastern Shore and who can save you time by recommending the communities and neighborhoods that are most likely to please you and your family? Before you choose a Realtor, take a few minutes to talk with Rich Barr, one of the newest team members of the Maryland and Delaware Group of Long & Foster. The son of the former owner of Barr International and two other Eastern Shore truck dealerships, Rich has spent his entire adult life in sales and sales management, pleasing customers by, first, carefully identifying their needs and, next, by working diligently to make their buying or selling experiences as efficient, rewarding, and “pain-free” as possible.

Friendly, confident, and easy to talk to, Rich became interested in selling real estate a few years ago after purchasing a new home and then renting his previous one. To accomplish the double transaction, Rich worked with The Maryland and Delaware Group’s co-founder, Brandon Brittingham. During the buying and renting process, the two gentlemen grew to respect each other’s talents, became friends, and later selected and purchased investment properties together. Today, as a member of Brandon’s team, Rich believes that his personal experiences as a home buyer and investor help him better understand and satisfy the needs of his customers. “I’ve worn the customer’s shoes,” he says.

Chatting at Long & Foster’s offices in Salisbury, Rich also speaks of his team’s commitment to “above and beyond” service. To Rich, going “above and beyond” to please a client means “you want to over-deliver. You want to be there at every step of the process.” He adds that a client should always feel that he or she is the agent’s only customer, no matter how busy the agent might be. “That’s the way Brandon made me feel, and that’s the way I want my customers to feel,” Rich notes.

Providing “above and beyond” service also means sharing with clients the benefits of the team’s broad collective knowledge and its cutting-edge technology. Nearly two dozen agents and marketing professionals support clients and each other by sharing information on a daily basis. Meanwhile, professional photographers, software engineers, social-media specialists, and others work in concert to provide exceptional Internet exposure for clients’ properties. Rich summed up the group’s efforts this way: “It just seems that everything we do is really geared and built towards making the experience for the customer better. . . . At the end of the day, we want to be best in customer service. We want to have the best technology platforms. We want to be best in class all the way around.”

If you’re thinking of buying or selling a home, take a moment to share your ideas with Rich Barr. Let Rich explain how he will combine his own expertise with the skills and technology of his partners to ensure that your experience will be rewarding, pleasant, and profitable.
