Last week I attended Third Friday, and it astonished me to see how far my city has come, and what great work results when everyone as a community comes together to participate in turning around our downtown.
Last night, by far, was one of the most crowded Third Friday’s I have seen. The number of vendors and people in attendance has grown exponentially, and #DTSBY has become prevalent in local social media
Our leaders, Chamber of Commerce, city residents, and local businesses have all banded together to continue to push towards the one common goal of changing the landscape of our downtown; and so far it is working!
New businesses like Cellar Door, Main Roots Coffee, Roadie Joe’s, and Vizion Creative TV have all nestled their places of business downtown. Salisbury University has opened an Art Gallery, and many buildings are under renovation or reconstruction like the old firehouse. Can you remember when we had progress like this?
We are continually seeing consistent forward progress, and it is amazing to watch a community all come together like Salisbury has. I think as a community it is important to recognize the efforts of so many, and commend the strides that have been made.
I am excited to be a city resident, and look forward to helping and being part of the continued movement of growth and revitalization in our beautiful downtown.
