April 3, 10, & 17 (Wednesdays) / “Eastern Shore Idol” 2024 Singing Competition at Brew River Restaurant, 502 W. Main St., Salisbury. Come watch contestants compete for cash prizes. Time: 8 p.m. – 11 p.m. (All contestants have been chosen; no new competitors eligible.)
April 5 (Fri.) / High School Baseball: Parkside vs. Delmar at Perdue Stadium, Salisbury. First pitch: 7:05 p.m. Tickets: $7 – $10.
April 5 – 7 (Fri. – Sun.) / Ninth Annual Manga & Anime Youth Art Show at the Art League of Ocean City Center for the Arts, 502 94th Street. April 6 (Sat.) / “The Classic Rock Experience” dinner and show at the Wicomico Youth and Civic Center, 500 Glen Ave., Salisbury. “Inspired by 70’s arena-rock legends Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Deep Purple, Boston, Styx, and other classic icons, “The Classic Rock Experience” combines live theatrical aspects and audio & visual production to present an authentic 70’s rock concert.” The dinner menu will include chicken pot pie, bourbon-glazed meatloaf, smashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, garden salad, dinner rolls, assorted desserts, coffee, iced tea, and water. Alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase. Times: Dinner at 6:30; show at 7:30 p.m. Tickets: $55. Note: Ticket sales close Wednesday, April 3, at 4 p.m.—show.

April 10 & 24 (2nd & 4th Wed.) S.T.E.A.M. and Robotics Club at the Wicomico Free Library, downtown branch. Imagine, design, explore, build, and discover using STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math). Bring your curiosity and imagination to play with snap circuits, littleBits, and more. Twice a month, the library turns into a STEAMing center where we experiment and tinker, using critical thinking, teamwork, and communication skills to code, build, and have fun. Time: 3:30 – 5:00 p.m. Free.

April 12, 13, 19 & 20 (Fridays & Saturdays.) / Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, Christopher Durang’s Tony Award-winning comedy, presented by the Community Players of Salisbury at Wor-Wic Community College’s Guerrieri Hall. “What happens when middle-aged siblings, set in their ways, receive a whirlwind visit from their successful movie-star sister accompanied by her exhibitionist boy toy? The following twenty-four hours involve a costume party, a clairvoyant housekeeper complete with dubious warnings, threats of selling the family home, a voodoo doll, and hilarious heartfelt harangues. Rated PG-13. April 13 (Sat.) Hops on the River, downtown Salisbury in the area between Unity Square and Riverwalk Games Park. Enjoy unlimited samples of craft beer from local breweries. Also, there will be food trucks on-site, and the event will feature music, games, craft vendors, and a new King of Wings competition. All attendees must be 21 or older. No vertical IDs will be accepted. There are no designated-driver tickets, although non-drinkers ages 21 and older can attend at no charge and not taste any alcohol.The event is weather-permitting; the rain date is April 14.Tickets are on sale at

April 15 (Mon.) / Dinosaur World Live at the Ocean City Performing Arts Center, 4001 Coastal Highway. Fun for the whole family, Dinosaur World Live is an experiential theatre performance which features a cast of large-scale dinosaur puppets brought to life by sophisticated design, electronics, and theatrical presentation. Time: 6 p.m. Tickets: $40 – $55.
April 19 & 20 (Fri. & Sat.) / Friends of Wicomico Public Library Biannual Book Sale at the downtown Branch, 122 S. Division St., Salisbury. Time: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
April 20 (Sat.) / Salisbury Zoo Stampede 5k Run / Walk. The race kicks off from the Salisbury Zoo’s East Gate (across from the Elks Golf Club). The race will go through the Zoo and along the Salisbury City Park’s greenway. 100% of the proceeds from the event will benefit the Salisbury Zoo. Sponsored by Vernon Powell Shoes. Time: 9 – 11 a.m. Cost: $27.50. Pre-registration ends April 17 at 4 p.m.
April 20 (Sat.) / “Vintage and Vinyl” Record-Store Day, Main Street, Broad Street, & Pitts Street in Berlin, Md. Live music by Journos and Friends, plus vinyl records for sale, antique items, vintage clothing, and musicians’ instrument swap. Participating stores: Sound Storm Records, Pitts Street Treasures, Outen’s Delights, Viking Tree, and Uptown Antiques. Time: 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.
April 26 – 28 (Fri. – Sun.) / Ward World Championship Carving Competition and Art Festival at the Ocean City Convention Center, 4001 Coastal Highway. Carvers and visitors from across the world convene for a prestigious competition of contemporary wildfowl art. Times: Fri., 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.; Sat., 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.; Sun., 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Admission: $10 for a multi-day pass; $8 for students and seniors; children under 12, free.
