April 4 (Fri.) / Quiet Fire Soul Show and dinner at the Wicomico Youth and Civic Center, 500 Glen Ave., Salisbury. Enjoy Quiet Fire’s rich repertoire of R&B, funk, Motown, jazz, blues, and classic hits. The dinner menu will include chicken caprese, Caribbean jerk pork, lemon rice pilaf, vegetable medley, spinach salad, fresh rolls and butter, dessert table, iced tea, water, and coffee. Carvers and visitors from across the world convene for a prestigious competition of contemporary wildfowl art. May 1 (Thurs.) / Mickey Dolenz Songs and Stories at the Ocean City Performing Arts Center, 4001 Coastal Highway. Fans can expect an intimate evening of music and storytelling as Dolenz performs classic Monkees hits and shares behind-the-scenes anecdotes from his illustrious career. May 3 (Sat.) / Salisbury Zoo Stampede 5k Run / Walk. The race kicks off from the Salisbury Zoo’s East Gate (across from the Elks Golf Club) and continues through the Zoo and along the Salisbury City Park’s greenway. This year’s event is themed for the zoo’s bison, and a portion of the proceeds from the event will benefit their exhibit. Let your imagination run wild and dress in your favorite animal costume. Runners with the most creative costume will receive a prize. New pricing structure: Adults, $25; children 12 and under, $15; zoo members, $5 discount. (Small fees added to all registration costs.)
