Wednesdays in April / “Eastern Shore Idol” 2023 Singing Competition at Brew River Restaurant, 502 W. Main St., Salisbury. Come watch contestants compete for $2,000 in cash prizes. Time: 8 p.m. (All contestants have been chosen; no new competitors eligible.) Round 5, April 5; Round 6, April 12; semi-finals, April 19; finals, April 26th.
April 7 & 8 (Fri. & Sat.) Easter Art & Craft Show and Kids’ Fun Fair at the Ocean City Convention Center, 4001 Coastal Highway. Arts & Crafts: Creative items for you and your home, including garden decor. Kids’ Fun Fair: Continuous activities, contests, and entertainment including Beanny the Easter Bunny, Easter egg hunts, juggling shows, limbo contests, hula hoops, and musical chairs. Times: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Tickets: Adults, $5.00; seniors (60+) and students (4 – 18), $4; military, police, and fire (with I.D.), $2; children 3 and under, free.
April 8 (Sat.) Berlin Spring Celebration, downtown Berlin, Md. Featuring a Bunny Brunch at the firehouse, an egg hunt, and an Easter parade. Also featuring the kids’ band Milkshake. General time: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Go here for details, including times for specific events:
April 12 & 26 (2nd & 4th Wed.) S.T.E.A.M. and Robotics Club at the Wicomico Free Library, downtown branch. Imagine, design, explore, build, and discover using STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math). Bring your curiosity and imagination to play with snap circuits, littleBits, and more. Twice a month, the library turns into a STEAMing center where we experiment and tinker, using critical thinking, teamwork, and communication skills to code, build, and have fun. Time: 3:30 – 5:00 p.m. Free.
April 13, 20, 27, & May 4 (Thursdays) / You Can Become a Stage Manager course presented by the Ocean Pines Players at the Ocean Pines Community Center, 235 Ocean Parkway. Learn about stage management, pre-production, rehearsals, and how to call a show. Times: 6 – 7 p.m. Cost: $10 for members; $35 for non-members. Ages 16 and over.
April 14 (Fri.) Ocean Renaissance and Seafarer’s Carnival featuring the Sweet Maple Singers. Carousel Oceanfront Hotel, 118th St., Ocean City. “Set sail for a weekend of fantasy fun at Ocean Renaissance. Enjoy performances, shop from artisans, and participate in a costume contest to win up to $1,000. For those of all ages who are fans of fantasy, mythology, and magic.” Time: 2 – 6 p.m.
April 16 – 30 (Sun. – Sun.) Ocean City’s Restaurant Weeks. Fixed-price menu options plus other great deals at participating O.C. restaurants. Reservations highly recommended.
April 20 – 22 & 27 – 29th (Thurs. – Sat.) / Crimes of the Heart, Beth Henley’s Pulitzer Prize-winning play, presented by the Community Players of Salisbury at Wor-Wic Community College’s Guerrieri Hall. Times: Thursdays and Fridays at 7:30 p.m.; Saturdays at 2:00 p.m. Adults: $25; seniors (55+), $20; students (18 and under), $20; children, (12 and under) $15; family, $65.
April 21 – 23 (Fri. – Sun.) / Ward World Championship Carving Competition and Art Festival at the Ocean City Convention Center, 4001 Coastal Highway. Carvers and visitors from across the world convene for a prestigious competition of contemporary wildfowl art. Times: Fri., 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.; Sat., 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.; Sun., 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Admission: $10 for multi-day pass; $8 for students and seniors; children under 12, free.
April 22 (Sat.) / Salisbury Zoo Stampede 5k Run/Walk. The race kicks off from the Salisbury Zoo’s East Gate (across from the Elks Golf Club). The race will go through the Zoo and along the Salisbury City Park’s greenway. 100% of the proceeds from the event will benefit the Salisbury Zoo. Time: 9 – 11 a.m. Cost: $27.50 in advance; $30.00 for race-day registration. Pre-registration ends April 19 at 4 p.m.
April 22 (Sat.) / Exoticon Salisbury at the Wicomico Civic Center, 500 Glen Ave.  See and purchase reptiles, amphibians, arachnids, sugar gliders, ferrets, hamsters, birds, and more. Many of the animals are not typically sold in pet stores. Time: 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Admission: $10 at the door; children ten and under, free.
April 28 (Fri.) / Grammy-award-winning artist T-Pain at the Wicomico Civic Center, 500 Glen Ave., Salisbury. The show will also feature NandoSTL Sponsored by Salisbury University. Time: 7:30 p.m. Tickets: $25 – $49.–nandostl-sponsored-by-salisbury-university.
April 29 & 30 (Sat. and Sun.) / Anime Ocean City at the Ocean City Convention Center, 4001 Coastal Highway. Maryland’s newest anime event will feature Artist Alley, a vendor marketplace, panels, a cosplay contest, and special guest Johnny Yong Bosch. Saturday, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.; Sunday, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Tickets: VIP, $50; weekend, $30; Saturday, $20; Sunday, $15; kids 10 and under, free.  
April 30 (Sun.) / Ocean City Bridal Show at Seacrets, 117 49th St., bayside, Ocean City. Meet wedding vendors, sip cocktails, and watch the Beauty & the Beach Fashion Show by Sandals Bridal. Prizes include a Sandals wedding dress. Time: 1 – 3 p.m. Admission: $12.95.
April 30 (Sun.) / The Mid-Atlantic Symphony Orchestra at the Ocean City Performing Arts Center, 4001 Coastal Highway. Time: 3 p.m. Tickets: $55 + fees.
