Dec. 13 (Fri.) / Jesse Garron’s Tribute to Elvis dinner and show.Acclaimed as “The Closest Thing to the King,” Jesse Garron possesses the voice, looks, and charisma that made Elvis a superstar. Garron will perform songs that cross three generations of rock, pop, gospel, and oldies. Dec. 7 (Sat.) / Ocean City Christmas Parade. Bring your chairs and blankets, and arrive early to park and get a good viewing spot. The parade begins promptly at 11:00 a.m. with an extended route from Old Landing Road north to 120th Street. The southbound lanes of Coastal highway will be closed for the parade in that general area, allowing spectators to gather curbside. Following the parade, visit the Carousel Hotel for family fun and an awards presentation. The beach and boardwalk will also be available for a leisurely stroll downtown. Dec. 8 (Sun.) / Salisbury’s Newtown District’s Holiday Tour of Historic Homes. This self-guided walking tour, a tradition for more than 30 years, provides an opportunity to visit some of Salisbury’s oldest and grandest homes decorated for the holidays. Homes on this year’s holiday tour vary in age from the late 18th century to the 20th-century inter-war period, and most have been renovated or restored, complete with period furnishings and antique Christmas decorations. Dec. 14, 20, & 21 / “Rockin’ Around the Zoo” Christmas Event at the Salisbury Zoo, 755 South Park Drive, Salisbury, Maryland 21804. “Join us for some Christmas fun while Rockin’ Around the Zoo. This is an event for all ages. Come stroll through our new twinkling light trails, join in with our carolers as you sing to some of your favorite zoo animals, listen to live holiday music on our new Holly Circle stage, and visit Santa Claus in his Christmas cottage, all while enjoying cocoa, treats, and more. This event will be held outside, and it will be dark. Please feel free to bring a flashlight for your family. (Phone flashlights are not permitted.) Before our walk, we will equip each family with a red film to place over their flashlight. This is to protect our animals while you walk. Dec. 31 (Tues.) / Salisbury, Md., New Year’s Eve Ball Drop and Celebration, downtown. The evening will kick off at 9 p.m. with a performance by A.M.P. Studios, followed by the first round of trivia at 9:45 p.m. The music will continue with Housing Co. taking the stage from 10 p.m. to 10:45 p.m., and the second round of trivia will follow shortly after. The night will culminate with a special performance by Honest Lee Soul from 11 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., with the highly anticipated ball drop at midnight to ring in 2025. In addition to live music and trivia, there will be plenty of activities to keep everyone entertained. Capture memories at the photo booth provided by Darling Wedding Productions, and participate in the Luminary Bags activity to light up the night.
