July 4 (Thurs.) / “Red, White, and Boom” Fireworks at Wicomico High School Stadium, directly across from the Wicomico County Youth and Civic Center, Salisbury. Food vendors, music, and children’s bounce houses. Gates open at 6:30 p.m. Fireworks will begin at 9:15 p.m. Bring lawn chairs or blankets. July 5 & 6 (Fri. & Sat.) / Hebron Firemen’s Carnival. Rides, food, and family fun, including the carnival’s famous oyster sandwiches. July 12 – 14 (Fri. – Sun.) / Ocean City Tuna Tournament. Watch more than 100 boat crews weigh-in their tuna catches in hopes of winning huge cash prizes. (Last year’s winnings totaled $857,600.) Weigh-ins take place on Fri. and Sat. from from 4 – 8 p.m. at the Ocean City Fishing Center and the Sunset Marina. On Sunday, weigh-ins take place from 4 – 7 at the Ocean City Fishing Center only.
