Various Dates in June / This month’s performers at the Freeman Stage, 31750 Lake View Drive, Selbyville, Del., include Beatles and Zeppelin tribute bands, singer Kat Edmonson, the Mid-Atlantic Symphony Orchestra, and juggler-physical comedian, Josh Turner. Wednesdays thru Saturdays in June (Beginning June 5) / Hebron Firemen’s Carnival at the Hebron Fair Grounds. Rides, food, and family fun, including the carnival’s famous oyster sandwiches. Kitchen opens at 6:30 p.m.; rides open at 7:15 p.m. Admission and parking are free. Ride tickets available for purchase. Closed July 4th. June 3 – 5 (Mon. – Wed.) / View historic World War II Aircraft at Salisbury Airport’s Bay Land Aviation, 5279 Airport Rd., Salisbury (south of the airline terminal). Climb aboard extremely rare B-29 and B-24 bombers. (In the entire world, only two of each remain in flying condition.) Times: Mon., 2 p.m. – 5 p.m.; Tues. and Wed., 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Admission to tour both aircraft: adults, $15; children (ages 10 – 17), $8; children (ages 9 and under), free. Times: Mon, 2 p.m. – 5 p.m.; Tues. and Wed., 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Aircraft rides will be available on Wed. morning. (Rides sold separately.) June 7 – 9 (Fri. – Sun.) / Mako Mania Shark Tournament, Bahia Marina, 21st & 22nd Streets, Ocean City. Mako Mania is unique in that boats of all sizes compete. June 7 – 9 (Fri. – Sun.) / Downtown Salisbury Festival, along East Main Street and East Market Street. The festival returns with carnival rides, live music, food, and local vendors. Admission is free. Carnival rides: single ticket, $1.25; book of 25, $25; book of 50, $45; wrist band for unlimited rides (Sunday only), $18. June 8 (Sat.) / The Golf Cart Derby, Crisfield City Hall and Somers Cove Marina. Compete against other golf carts for the fastest time through an obstacle course. Teams will consist of a driver and course mate. Entry fee is $10. Decorate your cart in red, white and blue to win prizes for the most patriotic cart. The Golf Cart Derby will start with a parade of golf carts starting at the Crisfield City Hall and will finish at Somers Cove Marina. Food and drinks will be available for sale. June 8 (Sat.) / Homebuyers’ Expo at the Wicomico Youth and Civic Center, Salisbury. Thinking of buying a home? Attend a free homebuyers’ workshop and learn about the home-buying process from start to finish. Each participant will receive a certificate required to apply for a special first-time-homebuyer loan. After the workshop, talk to attending real-estate agents, insurance agents, and lenders. Lenders may be able to pre-qualify you for a loan at the event. June 8 & 9 (Sat. & Sun.) / Ocean City Surf Festival. On Saturday, 16 teams of five take part in a fun-filled competition. On Sunday, professional surfers come to town to compete for $5,000 in prize money. Location: Castle in the Sand Hotel, 37th Street and the beach. June 14 & 15 (Fri. & Sat.) / Antique and Classic Boat Festival, Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum, 213 N. Talbot St., Saint Michaels’s Md. See wooden and fiberglass classics, vintage racers, and other antique and Chesapeake Bay-related boats. Also, more than 70 juried fine artists, craftspeople, and vendors will offer nautical and maritime-themed items for boat and home. June 15 (Sat.) / Eastern Shore Juneteenth Festival, Chipman Cultural Center, 325 Broad St., Salisbury. Celebrate African-American freedom and the rich culture of the Lower Eastern Shore through food, music, dance, and numerous activities. Time: 11 a.m. – 8 p.m. Free.

June 15 – 16 (Sat. & Sun.) / Ocean City Air Show. Featuring the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, the F-16 Viper Demo Team, the Canadian Forces Snowbirds, a U.S. Coast Guard search-and-rescue demo; the Socom Para-commandos (skydivers), a C5-M Super Galaxy, a World War II B-25 bomber, a P-51 fighter, and many other aircraft. Ticket prices vary by viewing location, and locations open at different times prior to the air show’s noon start time. Also, displays and exhibits will be located from 12th to 20th Streets off the boardwalk, and will feature flight simulators, interactive exhibits, and much more. June 16, 23, & 30 (Sundays) / “Sundaes in the Park” Concerts & Fireworks, Northside Park, 125th St., Ocean City. Bring a picnic basket and lawn chairs and enjoy a relaxing evening with your family.
