A Flower Show, an Air Show, and 19th-Century Baseball Games Bring Warm-Weather Fun


June 4 (Thurs.) / Live Life Large Flower Show  at the Wicomico County Youth and Civic Center, Salisbury. Presented by District 1 of the Federated Garden Clubs of Maryland.1:30 – 5:30 p.m. Free. 410-548-4911.
June 6 – 7 (Sat. & Sun.)  / On Sat., The Barren Creek Band performs at Adkins Historical and Museum Park  (Bratten and Main Streets) in Mardella Springs. Bring a lawn chair and enjoy hits from the 50’s through the 80’s, plus a touch of country. 4 – 7 p.m. Tickets: $10. Food available for purchase. On Sunday, come see a vintage Civil War-era baseball game featuring period rules, costumes, and equipment (no gloves). Teams will play two games with the first beginning at 11 a.m. Free; donations accepted. Park your car next to Northwestern Elementary School and walk a short distance to the field behind the tennis courts on Sharptown Rd. Activities benefit Westside Historical Society. 410-726-8407.
June 13 (Sat.) / Concert in the Country at Laytons Chance Winery. Bring a lawn chair and enjoy the music by The Jesters. $5 cover charge; free for persons under 21. Wine and food for sale. No other alcoholic beverages allowed. 
June 13 & 14 (Sat. & Sun.) Ocean City Air Show. The U.S. Navy Blue Angels, the Breitling Jet Team, an Air Force F-22 Raptor, and a P-51 Mustang will headline the show. June 19 (Fri.) / Salisburys Third-Friday Celebration on the Plaza. Vendors, food, and live music by the band Hot Meals; plus special dining deals at downtown restaurants. June is “Mystery Month,” so be prepared for surprises. 5 – 8 p.m. 
June 19 – 21 (Fri. – Sun.) / The Community Players of Salisbury present Noel Cowards comedy Blythe Spirit at Parkside High School Auditorium, Salisbury. Fri. & Sat. at 8 p.m.; Sun. at 2 p.m. Tickets: adults, $14; students & seniors, $12. 410-742-9186.
June 21 (Sun.) / Celtic Woman at the Wicomico County Youth and Civic Center, Salisbury. 3 p.m. A new production features traditional Irish anthems and pop standards, complete with bag pipers, dancers, a full band and choir, and the voices of Celtic Woman. Tickets: $57 – $87. 410-548-4911.
