May 18 (Thurs.) / Under the Streetlamp (performing doo-wop, Motown, and old-time rock’n’ roll hits) at the Ocean City Performing Arts Center, 4001 Coastal Highway, 8 p.m. Tickets: $25 – $45. 1-800-OC-OCEAN.
May 18 – 21 (Thurs. – Sun.) / Cruisin’ Ocean City. See more than 3,400 hot rods, muscle cars, and classics. Special guest: Erik Estrada. (See website below for Erik’s times and places.) Events take place at the Ocean City Convention Center, at the O.C. Inlet, and along the Boardwalk. Hours: Thurs. – Sat., 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.; Sun., 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Boardwalk automobile parades take place Fri., Sat., and Sun. mornings beginning at 8 a.m. Parades proceed from North Division St. south to the Inlet. Tickets to the Convention Center and Inlet areas: $10 per day on Thurs. and Sun.; $15 per day on Fri. and Sat.; children under 14 with an adult, free. Tickets good at both locations. Details:
May 19 (Fri.) / Third-Friday Celebration, Downtown Plaza, Salisbury. Food, art, vendors, and live music. This month’s theme: Urban Artscapes.
May 19 & 20 (Fri. night – Sat. morning) / Bunk with the Beasts campout at the Salisbury Zoo. This overnight adventure includes a cookout, a guided tour, animal encounters, a nighttime hike through the zoo, and a continental breakfast the next morning. Campers need to bring their own tents, sleeping bags, and flashlights. A limited number of tents will be available to rent for $25 each. Fun for families and scout groups. $30 per person. May 20 (Sat.) / Wings & Wheels at SBY Regional Airport, Airport Rd., Salisbury. Military jet fighters, classic aircraft, and classic cars on display. Airplane and helicopter rides available. Tour the control tower, a Piedmont Airlines aircraft, and a corporate jet. Free pancake breakfast from 8 a.m. – 10 a.m. Food trucks thereafter. Live music and a chance to win great prizes. Event runs from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. Admission is free. For auto parking, take Airport Rd. to Fooks Rd. Enter through gate on Fooks Rd. (watch for signs).
May 29 (Mon.) / Memorial Day Parade and Festival, Berlin, Md. Bands, dance teams, military groups. Parade begins at 8 a.m. at Steven Decatur Middle School and proceeds to Henry Park. After the parade, enjoy food, music, vendors and games at the park.
