Halloween Events Brighten October’s Autumn Days.

Saturdays in October / Sail on a Skipjack. Take a two-hour cruise on the Choptank River aboard the Nathan of Dorchester. The boat departs at 1 p.m. from the foot of High Street in Cambridge, Maryland. Oct. 4 thru Nov. 2 (Weekends plus Halloween) / Nightmares Haunted House, corner of Route 13 and Route 9 in Laurel, Del. Walk thru the screaming halls of Nightmares, where the Scream Team will bring all your nightmares and fears to life. Laurel Pop Warner will be selling all your favorite foods. Open 7 – 11 p.m. Tickets: $15. Bring a non-perishable canned food item and save $3. The event supports several non-profits. Oct. 5 (Sat.) / Seagull Century Bicycle Ride beginning and ending at Salisbury University. Routes are 63 and 100 miles long. Information table located in the Maggs Center main lobby Friday, 3 – 8 p.m., and Saturday, 6:30 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. Begin riding on Sat. between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m. (First heat departs from 7:00 – 7:45; second heat: 7:50 – 8:45) Finish by 6 p.m. Registration: $100. Oct. 5 (Sat.) / Wings & Wheels, Delaware Coastal Airport, Georgetown. Enjoy a day of planes, classic cars, WW II re-enactors, food, vendors, and more. Admission is free. Hours: 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Airplane rides available. Oct. 10 (Thurs.) / The Doo Wop Project (concert) at the Ocean City Performing Arts Center, 4001 Coastal Highway. Enjoy do-wop music from this six-man group. 8 p.m. Tickets: $35 and $45.

Oct. 11 – 12 (Fri. & Sat.) / Good Beer Festival at Pemberton Historical Park, 5561 Plantation Lane, Salisbury. Select from more than 100 brands of craft beer, and enjoy live music and a beer garden. Oct. 12, 19, & 26 (Sat.) / Halloween Events at the Salisbury Zoo. The zoo will host a non-scary Halloween Spooktacular for special-needs families on Oct. 12 from 3:30 – 5:30. The event will provide Halloween-themed games, Education Ambassador animals, and trick-or-treating around the zoo. Tickets: $8 per child with one free adult ticket per child admission. $2 per additional adult. Oct. 13 (Sun.) / Salisbury Kidney Walk at Winter Place Park, Salisbury. Three-mile walk (or optional shorter path), refreshments from Panera Bread and Starbucks, music by Green Room Karaoke, face-painting and games in the Kidney Kids Corner. Oct. 21 (Mon.) / Paris! The Show at Salisbury University’s Holloway Hall Auditorium. This concert features popular French songs from the post-WW II era. Scenic design transports the audience from Montmartre to the stages of the great Parisian cabarets. 7 p.m. Admission is free, but tickets are required and are limited to two tickets per requesting adult. Oct. 31 (Thurs. ) / Treat Street Halloween Event on the downtown plaza, Salisbury. Safe trick-or-treating for children 11 years old and younger. Children should wear costumes, and parents may wear non-scary, family-friendly costumes. 6 – 9 p.m. Registration at the corner of West Main and Division Streets.
