Sept. 4 (Fri.) / The Bronx Wanderers at the Freeman Stage, Selbyville, Del. With one part “oldies” and two parts Rock ’n’ roll, the group spans musical generations with great vocals and musicianship. Expect dancing in the aisles; 7 p.m. Tickets: 25 (limit 8). 302-436-3015.


Sept. 5 (Sat.) / Salisburys First Saturday Celebration, downtown on the steps of the Government Building, N. Division St. The Jesters perform from 4:30 – 7 p.m. Students from the Academy of Music Performance will play during intermission, from 5:30 – 6 p.m. Art vendors will offer their creations, and employees of the Salisbury Zoo will bring live animals. Free.


Sept. 5 – 7 (Sat., Sun., & Mon.) Skipjack Race & Festival, Deal Island, Md. Sept. 6 (Sun.) / WWE Live at the Wicomico Civic Center. Roman Reigns vs. Bray Wyatt; also Dean Ambrose, Ryback, Big Show, Luke Harper, and others; 7 p.m. Tickets: $15 – $95. 410-548-4911.


Sept. 10, 16, 22, & 29 / Free Concerts at Holloway Hall, Salisbury University / 9/10The Crooked Road plays blue grass and old-time ballads of southwestern Virginia, 7 p.m., free. / 9/16No BS! Brass Band offers New Orleans- and rock-inspired high-energy, danceable music, 7 p.m., free. / 9/22 The Cumbia All Stars play “psychedelic Peruvian Cumbia” (a music genre popular throughout Latin America in the 1970’s). The music features “delirious melodies with bold guitar . . . and funky beats.” 7 p.m., free. / 9/29 Tango Lovers presents tango music, costumes, and dance. Sept. 18 (Fri.) / Salisburys Third-Friday Celebration, on the Plaza, downtown. Live music with local vendors selling art, clothing, and specialty items. Plus discounts and live entertainment at many downtown restaurants. This month’s theme is “Urban Artscapes.” Explore Downtown Salisbury’s urban landscape with tours, building histories, and architectural scavenger hunts. 5 – 8 p.m.


Sept. 19 (Sat.) Joey & Ginas Italian Wedding. Interactive dinner-theater comedy where audience members can participate in Gina & Joey’s disastrous wedding reception. Meal and non-alcoholic beverages included. (Guests can bring their own spirits.) 5:30 p.m. Tickets: $60. 410-548-4911.



Sept. 24 – 27 (Thurs. – Sun.) Ocean City Sunfest. Art, food, and lively entertainment at the Inlet. This year’s headlining performers: Tony Orlando (9/24 at 8 p.m.) and Wynonna and the Big Noise (9/25 at 8 p.m.). For tickets, visit and use the password FUNANDSUN.
