Witness amazing performances at the Bennett High School’s Rock & Roll Revival show. Dream of spring as you inspect scores of new boats in Ocean City. Laugh yourself silly at an Off-Broadway musical. Here are some of February’s top events in and around Salisbury.

When Event
Tuesday, Feb. 3rd Menopause, the Musical. The Off-Broadway and Las Vegas hit comes to Salisbury for one night only. The play’s all-female cast celebrates “The Change” with hilarious numbers about hot flashes, mood swings, wrinkles, and more. The characters meet at a department store and form a bond as they joke about their common symptoms. Eventually, the audience sings along to menopausal parodies of hit songs from the 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s. Fri. & Sat., Feb. 6th & 7th Rock & Roll Revival. A full-length musical show performed by student musicians, singers, and dancers. Note: This show is LOUD.

Through Sun., Feb. 8th Ward Museum exhibit––  A Most Respectable Bird: The Wild Turkey. Ben Franklin called it “A true original native of America.”

American Indians feasted on it, and colonialists became fascinated with it. Learn more about the history and significance of this plucky American bird, which is becoming more plentiful, thanks to conservation efforts. 909 S. Schumaker Dr., Salisbury. 410-742-4988 ext. 120.

Fri. – Sun., Feb 13th – 15th Ocean City Boat Show. Fifty boat dealers, 140 exhibitors, and some 350 boats will greet you at this year’s event, sponsored by the Ocean City/Berlin Optimist Club. You may even win this year’s show giveaway, an 18’ Sweetwater pontoon boat with a 40-h.p. Honda motor. Ocean City Convention Center. Hours: Fri., 11 a.m. – 7 p.m.; Sat., 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.; Sun., 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Tickets: $10; weekend pass, $15.
Fri., Feb. 20th Downtown Salisburys Third Friday Celebration, on the Plaza, 5:00 – 8:00 p.m.

Fri. – Sun., Feb. 20th – 22nd The Better Living Expo and Fine Arts Show. Home-improvement companies and building contractors display everything from hot tubs and sun rooms to flooring and HVAC equipment. Service-providers offer landscaping, pest control, carpet-cleaning, and more. Artists and crafts people sell paintings, photos, and hand-crafted items. Hours: Fri., 4 – 8 p.m.; Sat., 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.; Sunday 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. Wicomico Youth & Civic Center, 500 Glen Ave., Salisbury.


Sat., Feb. 21st Ward Museums Drop-in Art Family Fun. Cut foam in the shapes of animals; then dip your foam pieces in ink and stamp animal images onto paper. 10 a.m. – Noon. Free. All supplies provided.


Ward Museums Print- Making Program. Artist Matt Smith will teach linocut print-making. Participants will stamp artistic designs onto fine paper after learning to cut imagery into linoleum printing blocks. 12:30 – 4:30 p.m.  $35 per person for Ward members; $50 for non-members. Tues., Feb. 24th The Harlem Globetrotters put their special spin on the game of basketball with a pre-show “Magic Pass” event at 5:30 p.m., followed by the game at 7:00 p.m. During the “Magic Pass” event, you can spend time on the court with the Globetrotters, shoot baskets, and learn ball tricks. Tickets: “Magic Pass” pre-event, $22. Game, $22 – $74 (Bench experience, $246). Special rates available for groups of 10 or more. Fans attending the pre-event must also purchase tickets to the game.
